Michael Cheney, a multi-millionaire and marketing guru, is my mentor. I joined him as an apprentice in November 2023 and am on track to realising my dream!
The above video is part of a lengthy interview I chose to show how he views the future of work and wealth. I’ll publish other parts in future posts.
It is incredible how he honed his techniques so finely after 24 years of harvesting an excellent income from the Internet, so following all his teachings is a must.
One of the most valuable things I’ve learned from this visionary is how to be single-minded. After working for two years in a traditional job, he resigned and put his energy full-time into travelling along the path to Internet Wealth.
His stories are fascinating, and he usually tells them very theatrically in emails. He’s an email master!
How my story fits
In March 2023, I retired after 50 years as a mindful educator. At first, I was elated and adored the endless days without schedules, deadlines, or students to look after. Then I felt extremely tired and slept so much. Once I’d recovered, I realized I was in shock!
Why? I had spent 50 years living a second-hand life—in other words, I was living through and for others. Then I heard Michael’s story and realized I should have done what he did long ago!
But it’s not too late! I am determined to follow in his footsteps and make a million in the next 18 months. I now understand that we all tend to make unnecessary sacrifices. Our own happiness should come above everything else. This is our moral duty to ourselves!
I am so much happier creating my life for myself, catching up on all the lost years when I started a project for myself and then had to drop it because my students and academic life came first.
Michael’s Vision
Even then, when he first entered the Internet Business world, he had a strong vision of how traditional work would quickly disappear and how the crumbling employment infrastructure would collapse.
So, knowing his vision, I decided to get his permission to conduct a short interview with him. To get this, I had to create a proposal for his team to approve, and quite quickly, to my joy, he granted it.

- How has your wealth and success changed you personally, and what lessons have you learned about maintaining balance and fulfilment?
- Can you share any specific strategies or practices that have been instrumental in your journey to becoming a multimillionaire?
- As someone who champions living your ideal life first-hand, what advice would you give aspiring entrepreneurs looking to achieve similar success and fulfilment?

I enjoyed listening to the interview with Michael Cheney as it is always helpful to hear from those who have succeeded in their thoughts for others and their advice. I think the biggest takeaways from the interview were that he emphasized how important it is to focus on something that you are passionate about and can find people willing to spend money on it, and that there is some value to having a typical job to give you income.
When I think about all the different things I have heard about trying to make money outside of the 9-to-5, I don’t often hear about ensuring you have a source of reliable income and experience to support your goals. But it’s true; a lot of the things you need to do in order to create a valuable business require money for you to invest in the project to be worthwhile. He also mentioned how much time he spent outside of his job learning essential entrepreneurship lessons as he focused more on that than perhaps spending time with family and friends. While I don’t view my job as a placeholder for my hopefully successful future business, the value of learning skills and tricks that I need for that business is important.

Hi Kiersti, I’m glad this interview was fascinating: he is a fantastic guy. I am finding working with him closely as his apprentice. Yes, as you could see from the questions, I was focusing on the future of traditional work in this interview, but within Millionaire Apprentice skool he teaches all other aspects. He relies on wealth creation from digital methods – well, he’s been consistently earning and building his various businesses for 25 years – so that speaks for itself! The Internet is our Future – all of us – so the powers that be will ensure that it’s 100% reliable.
To tackle market saturation or tech advs, he constantly produces new products for new markets. For example, he’s developing child’s play profits, which is a profit-making approach first made by TikTok. So, even children can start making money online for their families and future! Adaptability is his middle name. As he says, he is not in the river of life, but he is the river!!
