Everything You Need Is Right Inside You!

car and driver

I will begin by debunking a myth that’s all too common in today’s digital age: the relentless race for mastering internet tools as the ultimate path to success. It’s a tempting narrative, especially when you see the internet brimming with success stories linked to those who’ve nailed SEO, keywords, or social media engagement. But while these tools are essential, they merely skim the surface of what it takes to flourish.

You’ll discover that this isn’t just about becoming adept with the tools and platforms the internet provides. It’s also about understanding that, while beneficial and often necessary, acquiring new skills can trick us into a myopic pursuit. The car — representing the hardware and software of the digital realm — is crucial, of course. Still, without a savvy driver, that is, the individual’s inner wisdom and guidance, the journey lacks direction and purpose.

As I guide you through this exploration, consider this: many ancient spiritual traditions advocate that each human is self-sufficient. Just as a car requires a driver to reach a destination, the tools and skills we amass for internet success require the guidance of our deeper, innate qualities to make a meaningful impact.

You might wonder, ‘How does this tie into the next step?’ Well, let’s shift gears and delve into how our spiritual compass, honed by ancient wisdom, plays a pivotal role in navigating the web and life itself. The skills you fine-tune for the internet are the vehicle, while the spirit and consciousness within guide you to your authentic destination.

I’m going to tell you about something ancient that has withstood the test of time: the teachings on the completeness of the individual. Dive deep into any spiritual tradition, and you’ll discover the concept of the human as a unique entity or an energy terminal. In these traditions, our existence is not random; it’s intentional and full of potential.

These spiritual frameworks suggest that we are more than flesh and blood, more than the sum of our online skills. There’s a fundamental belief that a spirit, or life force, animates us. This spirit isn’t just a mystical idea; it’s what drives our passion, creativity, and intuition. It’s the force behind the scenes, operating the computer of the mind, if you will.

Now, how does this idea help us? In the digital age, we’re focused on the tangible, the measurable, like ‘How many followers do I have?’ or ‘What’s my website’s ranking?’ We often overlook the underlying essence that fuels our online ventures. The spirit is the source of our authenticity and originality, both irreplaceable assets in the crowded internet space.

It’s also crucial to recognize that the mind, driven by spirit, shapes our reality. As we’ll explore in the following section, unseen forces influence us more than we realize. Harnessing these forces can lead to a deeper understanding and more meaningful achievements in our personal and digital lives.

You might not realize it, but there’s much more going on in your life than meets the eye. We often get so caught up in the tangible, the quantifiable, that we overlook the invisible currents shaping our journey. There are forces at play, unseen, often unfelt, but they’re as real as the screen you’re looking at right now.

Being mindful is like turning on a light in a room that’s been dark for too long. It’s about becoming fully aware of what’s happening within and around us. It’s a transformative process, revealing the parts of ourselves that have lurked in the shadows, neglected or simply unrecognized.

Meditation takes mindfulness a step further. I’m talking about being here and now, focusing on the current moment with an empty mind. It sounds simple, but it unlocks a powerful state of presence. When you meditate, you’re not just sitting still – you’re actively clearing away the clutter that clouds your mind, offering clarity and insight.

Why is this important? Because these practices sharpen our internal guidance systems. They help us see beyond the surface to identify the true motivations behind our actions and the authentic desires that fuel our ambitions. They remind us of our incredible capacity to navigate life’s complexity with our physical senses, a tuned intuition, and a harmonized spirit.

I’m setting the stage here for the ‘luminous mind.’ It’s a concept coming up next, and trust me, it’s a game-changer. It ties into our deepest nature, the essence of who we are. Understand this, and you’ll start to see the puzzle of your life come together in ways you never expected.

You’ve likely heard phrases like ‘unlocking your full potential’ tossed around quite often, especially in self-help circles. I will tell you about the ‘luminous mind’, a concept you might not be familiar with, but trust me, it’s something incredibly special that resides within you.

So, what is the luminous mind? It’s the inner light, the part of you that remains untouched by the hardships and chaos of the physical world. Despite being veiled by the clouds of our delusions, this inner brilliance exists from the moment we’re born. It’s not about acquiring new skills or information; it’s about accessing what’s already there.

Our everyday struggles often lead us to believe we lack something essential for happiness or success. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Just like a cloudy sky doesn’t diminish the sun’s power, our true potential remains, awaiting rediscovering.

If you’re feeling stuck, it might be due to these delusions that cloud your mind. They come in various forms: fear, doubt, or misconceptions about our capabilities. The good news is that these clouds can be cleared. With reflective practices like mindfulness and meditation, you can begin to see your luminous mind shine through the fog.

Don’t worry too much about perfecting any specific technique at first. The goal is to start an inward journey. Mindfulness is simply about being fully present and aware of your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Meanwhile, meditation is about creating the mental space to let your inherent wisdom surface.

Committing to this inner work, you’re not stopping learning new things or honing your internet skills. You are, however, choosing something that resonates with you on a much deeper level – tapping into an ever-present source of creativity, insight, and peace that can amplify your external endeavours.

I’m going to let you in on a secret. There’s something precious, incredibly valuable and often unacknowledged inside each of us – our consciousness. Now, what is this exactly? Think of it as a diamond. Not because it’s expensive or flashy but because, like a diamond, our consciousness possesses clarity, depth, and the ability to reflect light from our experiences in brilliant ways.

I believe the diamond metaphor beautifully personifies our true nature. This isn’t just about being aware; it’s about the quality of our awareness. Consciousness is your ability to experience and interact with the world, yet it isn’t synonymous with self. It represents your potential to perceive, feel, and be fully alive in moments that seem ordinary but are actually extraordinary.

So here’s a picture of your inner diamond – it’s your consciousness, but not as you typically understand it. We often equate consciousness with a sense of self, filled with personal narratives and memories. Yet the diamond of your true nature goes beyond the ego; it’s not just about ‘me’ or ‘my story.’ It’s about recognizing that ’emptiness’ isn’t a lack. In fact, it’s a space brimming with the potential for new thoughts, emotions, and realizations.

Inside, our consciousness is vaster than the infinite web of the internet could ever be. Unbound by the limitations of our external appearances or possessions, this part of us remains untouched by the chaos of the digital world. It’s the foundation of our mental and emotional well-being, and when it’s clear and polished like a well-cut diamond, it guides us with wisdom and insight.

In the next section, you’ll find practical ways to tap into this inner resource. Think of it as the transition from just knowing that the diamond exists to actually appreciating its value and learning how to cut it to reveal its brilliance. It’s about taking the raw potential within you and shaping it to light up your life with clarity and purpose.

You can always adjust your approach, but it’s important to establish a daily habit that encourages inner growth and nurtures self-discovery.

While acquiring new internet skills can boost your online endeavours, it’s equally crucial to balance that with the development of inner resources.

A solid routine can be transformative, in my opinion. Begin with simple steps, such as dedicating time for silence, adding moments of mindfulness throughout your day, and trying out various forms of meditation to see which resonates with you.

Don’t worry too much about getting it perfect from the start. Your first attempt doesn’t need to be your last. Choose something that feels right and be open to change.

Remember, the journey to success, happiness, and fulfilment starts from within. Our luminous mind, our consciousness akin to a diamond, holds the key to unlocking our full potential.

I hope you’ve found this exploration enlightening and that you’ll begin to tap into that vastness within you. The invisible qualities and inner strength you possess are limitless resources waiting to be discovered and harnessed.

So, my question today is, will you take the time to explore the diamond within? Will you honour your car’s driver and be mindful of the destination you’re truly aiming for? These inward journeys and discoveries will enrich your life beyond any external skill or accomplishment.

  1. Hey Linden, I really enjoyed reading that. I never used to be someone who thought about my inner self but as we get older I guess that changes. I too have seen different ancient cultures talk about humans in the way you described and it can’t be a coincidence when it’s all over the world!

I will ask you a question, I often hear about meditation but have never been able to really grasp it, I’d like to though, do you have any tips to get in to this state?

I will be reading this again, I have saved the page, it’s full of fascinating incites and reminders that we easily forget, as you say in everyday life. I do thank you for this article, I believe it will not only help me, but many others who read it. Thanks, Linden.

    • Hi Ryan again. It’s nice to see you here. It’s so satisfying to read that you enjoyed this post, and yes, age = wisdom.

Your question: Meditation starts with mindfulness. It’s just becoming more aware of your body/mind/spirit and watching your mind objectively. Mindfulness leads to meditation (longer focused periods of mindfulness), so you gradually get better control of your thoughts and can stand back from your negative emotions. Eventually, you can affirm that ‘I am the ruler of my thoughts’, which opens you up to a constant positive state. I recommend you spend 20 minutes daily being mindful by following the five steps above.

My pleasure to provide something you can refer back to to help guide you. And thanks for having such confidence in me!

Blessings and Success to you, Ryan, in the Year of the Dragon. 🐲
