Embracing the Full Mind of Mindfulness
I recommend you go to the introduction here before starting Stage 2 if you haven’t already completed it. Each stage leads to the next, so you must complete it if you truly want to develop your mindfulness.
Before delving into Stage 2, let’s kick off your mindful journey with an introduction to the realm of prosperity and fulfilment through mindfulness.
Drawing from my extensive meditation experience and role as a guide, mindfulness is about being in a state of full mind. It goes beyond our everyday intellectual mind and taps into our consciousness.
Picture a mesmerizing photo of a fully aware hunting tiger, showcasing how animals, especially hunters, naturally embody mindfulness. This feline is focused, every cell alert, driven by instinct rather than explicit intellectual processes—primarily the instinct to survive by hunting for sustenance.
As sophisticated animals, we share similar instincts, often overshadowed by our intellectual minds. Some argue that we’ve leaned too heavily into our intellectual capacities, potentially neglecting our innate, natural state.
Consider this: we may not need to hunt for survival, and our experiences might not include profound hunger. However, reflecting on our instincts, mirroring the poised big cat ready to pounce, can cultivate regular mindfulness.
Getting Started: Simple Instructions
- Lower your eyelids, sit with a straight back near natural light, and relax your tongue on the floor of your mouth.
- Listen outwardly, then around you, and finally within your body.
- Notice changes in your breathing as you borrow air from the Universe—IN through your nose, OUT slowly through slightly parted lips.
- Channel your inner cat in a hunting pose, focusing on every pore, eyelash, and cell. Embrace the supremely present “here and now”—the essence of mindfulness.
- There is no need for a timer; stay in your cat-like awareness as long as you wish.
Starting Your Mindful Journey: Beginner Reminders
Remember your dedicated space for mindfulness, as discussed in the introduction. Sit without support (unless back support is necessary), lengthening your spine, widening your shoulders, and allowing gravity to position your body naturally. Look at the GIF of your lungs: they are truly a miracle.
Breathing Life into Your Mindful Practice
Breath awareness is pivotal in transforming your mind into a full mind and expanding consciousness. Express gratitude for each borrowed breath from the Universe. Consciously using your breath daily anchors you in the present moment, guiding your attention in through the nose and out through slightly parted lips. This simple act brings you to the centre of the present, where past thoughts and future speculations fade away.
Enter Your Inner Universe: The Ideal Place
You don’t need to hunt for food to explore your inner universe through mindfulness. Here, your values are indisputable, offering a comprehensive view of existence from your unique perspective. In this space, you can choose goals, plan your future singlemindedly, and maintain unity and coherence in your life, free from external distractions.
You probably do not need to hunt for food to enter your inner universe via mindfulness. To repeat once more, this is the ideal place because:
- all your values are indisputable
- you can access a comprehensive view of existence from your unique perspective and integrate your values without obstacle
- you can choose your goals without distraction from others/social systems/traditions
- you can plan your future singlemindedly
- you can maintain unity and coherence in your life
Now, let’s move forward to Stage 3.
