My Story
I spent half a century pouring my energy into educating others. I thought I was doing something noble and privileged, believing that helping shape minds was my highest calling. Day in and day out, I worked under the premise that what I did was inherently good and worth every sacrifice.
Then retirement hit me like a ton of bricks. It was supposed to be the golden period. Instead, it forced a profound re-evaluation. I was caught in what I now call the ‘career qualification vocation conspiracy’ – a belief system that glorified constant work at the cost of personal welfare.
The thing is, I almost didn’t make it. The back-to-back classes, the grading, the endless cycle of preparatory work – it almost burned me out as the years added up. Thankfully, I didn’t lose myself completely; being a mindful educator gave me a fighting chance to maintain some balance.
In the calm after the storm of my career, I started digging deeper into something that always seemed to slip through my fingers – money. I faced the fact that I never had enough, and the safety net I thought I had wasn’t as reliable as expected. It was time for a deep dive into understanding the true value of financial literacy and independence.
You can read more about the dangers of living your precious life second-hand here and my free weekly newsletter, ‘Well-being, Work and Wealth‘.
Please read the end of this post to find out how I started to live my new life in the limelight.
Awakening to the Realities of Money
I’m here to help you understand that moment I had when I awoke to the harsh realities of money. It’s about right after I hung up my educator’s hat and stared into the abyss of retirement. Gone was the regular paycheck, and I realised that the comfort of a steady income was a thing of the past.
So, I started to explore what ‘enough’ looked like for me. It became clear that the nest egg I had been nurturing was more akin to a beginner’s savings jar than a retiree’s safety net. I needed more than just pin money—there had to be a sustainable way to supplement my income.
I wasn’t alone in this pursuit. Many educators like myself awaken to the cold reality that the retirement we’ve earned doesn’t quite match up with the lifestyles we’ve envisioned. During this exploration of a financial lifeline, I stumbled upon the digital world of online earnings.
You’ll discover that online earning isn’t just another career choice; it’s a new playing field. My mindset about money, that solemn and sacred thing that we quietly earn and even more quietly spend, was ripe for change. The old-school belief that hard work in a stable career was the only path to financial security was crumbling.
Enter Michael Cheney and his apprenticeship scheme. It wasn’t just intriguing; it hit me like a lightning bolt. Here was a real chance to change my relationship with money and earning, to go for gold, permitting myself to seize what could’ve been seen as a wildly out-of-character opportunity.
Embracing Change: A Leap of Faith
I will tell you about a chapter of my life that might resonate. After years spent in the rhythm of educational service, the shock of retirement left me in an unexpected place. My relationship with money needed an overhaul, to put it mildly. That’s when I stumbled upon an opportunity that seemed too good to pass up yet dauntingly unconventional: Michael Cheney’s apprenticeship program.
Sure, eyebrows were raised, and the whispers of ‘madness’ didn’t escape my ears. But this isn’t just about proving a point; it’s also about reinventing myself. I decided that stepping into the unknown was preferable to the creeping sense of stagnation I felt clinging to outdated notions of money and career.
You’ll learn about my journey into the entrepreneurial realm, a space where your earning potential isn’t pegged to a predefined salary band. It’s about being proactive, taking on risks, and, most importantly, trusting the process. For me, this was more than just learning new skills; it was about embracing a new way of life.
The greatest takeaway isn’t the financial aspect per se—it’s the psychological shift. Moving from a structured, salaried position to one where your ingenuity and effort dictate success is liberating and intimidating. However, I’m here to tell you that it’s worth the leap, and I’ve found that the mindset of thinking big and aiming high can unlock doors that seemed forever closed.
Going for Gold: Strategies and Outcomes
I’m going to get right to the point: embarking on Michael Cheney’s apprenticeship was like finding a map of a treasure I never knew I was searching for. It wasn’t just about learning the ropes of online business; it was about redefining what success looked like for me.
In this apprenticeship, I discovered that you can always adjust your approach down the road. It’s not about setting a rigid path; it’s about being agile and open to opportunities. Choose something that resonates with you—that was my tactic. And guess what? It paid off.
The strategies I picked up have been tailored to my strengths. I focused on creating value and leveraging my extensive experience in education, turning it into a digital powerhouse. This included designing online courses, consulting services, and much more.
A lot is happening very quickly, and it’s thrilling. I’ve seen growth not only in my bank account but also in my confidence and skill set. If I had clung to my old beliefs about money, I wouldn’t be where I am today—a testament that your first attempt doesn’t need to be your last.
I hope sharing my journey enlightens and inspires others who might feel stuck in their ways or afraid to step out of their comfort zones.
Success isn’t necessarily about starting young or having a unique idea; it’s about the courage to start and the resilience to keep going when faced with challenges.
I’d love to hear your feedback or if my story resonates with you. Are you ready to reassess your relationship with work and money, too? It’s never too late to go for gold.
Next, I’ll discuss the details of joining Michael Cheney. I believe he is – excuse the pun – ‘one in a million!’
How to sign up with Michael Cheney
Safety First! This is how I checked him out before I decided to join him.
- 1. Check to see if this is a scam, as follows:
- Study the address bar and URL – at the top of the browser. Look for misspellings; does the https at the beginning have ‘s’ = secure?; check the domain is “.com,” not “.net.”
- To check the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate, click on the dropdown at the left- see the screenshot above.
- Check the website for poor grammar/spelling – these are rare on legitimate company websites. Michael’s account has ten pages of informative text and photos of his team.
- Verify the domain – there should be only one domain in the address, i.e., not more than one “.com” or “.net.”
- Check you can contact the company and get their information.
- Look up and review the company’s social media presence. Go to Facebook, LinkedIn, etc., and check the followers (profiles) and comments – the absence of text and overkill with photos/images could indicate an illegitimate account.
- Check the website’s privacy policy – Michael’s is easily accessible in the homepage footer – see screenshot.

- 2. Check out his online status on Wikipedia, Google, etc. If you type his name in the browser, he has more than 30 references.
- 3. Get a recommendation about him. One of his apprentices introduced me to him. I will give you my recommendation here. I have studied every detail of his career, philosophy, presence, and level of respect.
- 4. Listen and watch him talk and see how he makes you feel. His sincerity shone through for me.
Once you’re satisfied, click the ‘Get Access Now’ button
Michael wants you to learn from him, so he will invite you to give him an email address so he can send you emails about his Apprenticeship even if you decide not to sign up. But this is optional.
Then, you will enter the member’s area and be prompted to sign up. He also insists that you sign a legal contract once you have invested in him. Naturally, he is a serious businessman, so he requires that you commit by investing a certain sum of money to pay for the work his team will start to do for you immediately.
I made quite a large investment, but this varies, and I believe it is less now. I joined back in October of 2023, when the scheme just started. Below, you can see a copy of the agreement we both signed:
Then, after watching a special video that introduces you to the Millionaire’s program in the Member’s Area, you have a whole list of things to do, e.g. deciding how you want to be paid – by creating a special $ account in my case because I live in Japan; joining various schemes and clubs; arranging introductory Zoom meetings with two senior members of Michael’s team; then getting to work on the programme.
The amazing vote of confidence in me as a potential millionaire was that I received my first passive income payment paid into WISE (wise.com) through his special clearing house Seniority Limited within 24 hours of signing with him – see below:

Overall, it is highly formal and well-organised. While I’ve been working on my website to promote Michael (https://millionairemindsetroadmap.com), which is up and running now, please look. I have received his various small but regular payments into my designated account. I’m writing my debut article to promote his scheme as an affiliate.
What is affiliate marketing?
Affiliate marketing, in case you don’t know, means that you are provided with a unique link to use to promote your product, in my case, Michael Cheney’s MIllionaire’s Apprenticeship and other digital products he has created to build wealth, which ensures you are paid commission. If you are an apprentice, you get huge commissions – nearly $1000 for each product – if you recruit someone to join or purchase.
He is giving away his money to continue his legal internet wealth creation legacy and hand over all his hard work. He has earned more than enough money but is very invested in making sure as many people as possible can become equally wealthy and resign from their traditional hourly money-earning life-excluding jobs. He did this 23 years ago, risking everything because he was determined there was another way to make money in this digital age.
Looking Forward: helpful links
I am so enjoying my new life. There’s so much to create and look forward to. I am truly living life first-hand now – not sacrificing myself for anyone. As Ayn Rand said in her novel:
“I could die for you. But I couldn’t and wouldn’t, live for you!“
The Fountainhead
I’ve taken risks and know that I will work hard to rise to the challenge of becoming a millionaire in 18 months – you can read my Chronicle updated every few days – Day 51 – here. Through Michael Cheney, I encountered Wealthy Affiliate – this is the perfect platform for Internet business, so I could instantly create my website and get started. You can read my review here.
If you would like to support my journey, please click on my affiliate links for Michael Cheney here and Wealthy Affiliate here, at no cost to yourself. Helping me achieve my new goal may inspire you to take the plunge and join me. If you do click either of my affiliate links, I will look after you forever and encourage you on your journey.

Thank you for your attention!
I wish you all the best in your First-Hand Life!
I have had the pleasure of reviewing your post Multi-Millionaire’s Apprentice. My story is not unlike yours although I labored for 38 years ‘helping’ people out of the matrimonial disasters they created. I entered that game thinking the profession was a noble one but, as you say, constant work at the cost of personal welfare. You and I have ended up in the same place although via different paths. That being said, I am delighted to hear that you are living your new life in the limelight. Affiliate marketing provides the vehicle to those with enough courage and a skin thick enough to absorb the ‘tin foil hat’ criticisms of those closest to you.
I clicked on the link that led to your post on living life through others, self-sacrifice masking self-eradication. What a brilliant way to put it, ‘living life second-hand’. I adore your writing style and admire the depth of the insight you have at this point in your life. Although the realization that your life has been one caught up in the 40 to 50 years in the matrix that meant neglect of loved one’s, buried passions and a loss of happiness, the good news, thankfully, is the re-discovery of one’s true self.
I did a post of my own the other day that dealt with the paths to wellness for seniors. It stressed the point that we must remain active and ‘volunteerism’ was one way to do this. Then I did a short paragraph on ‘virtual volunteerism’ where a senior could leverage their experience into whole new careers by engaging with others electronically thereby becoming ‘virtual’ volunteers. Long story short, someone commented on the post and asked if there were people who could assist with home schooling. As we know this is becoming a trend that is gaining in popularity and, lo and behold, here I am reading your content. They say there are no coincidences in the universe.
It is no surprise to me that you have hit what may be a motherlode for you. The possibilities for you are truly exciting and I am thrilled that you have found a path that will lead you to what I know will be an explosion of creativity. I could go on at length on the parallels that I see with your unfolding and mine. For myself, the self-realization I see on my personal path ahead is, at the same time, exciting and gratifying. It is the saving grace that can be summed up in the old phrase ‘all’s well that end’s well.’
Thank you for sharing this with us. Your concluding remarks in the ‘living life second hand’ post are going to resonate with your readers in profound ways. They certainly did with me. Your point that creativity is transformative is a truth that escaped me for almost four decades. That point, for those of your readers who grasp it, and I’m sure many will, is going to be life-changing for so many. Thank you for sharing your insights.
